Who or what is Allah and what do Muslims believe about Him?

Allah is the Arabic word for God. In Islam God is seen to have no gender and has no body like we do. It is forbidden to draw pictures of God, as we have no idea or concept of what God could possibly appear like. God has knowledge of everything that happens including the future and what happened in the past. It is believed that God has knowledge of everything that is happening everywhere, and though He knows what is happening He is not part of any thing in this universe. Though Muslims address God as a He, this is simply for ease of language as the Arabic word Allah can not be made feminine or plural.
