Who plays the electric guitar at the live shows?
Some people have noticed that when Eric performs live, other than when he is playing acoustic guitar by himself, there is often electric guitar playing along with the band. Many people have assumed that it is Invisible Pete playing guitar when he is not needed for tuba. However, Invisible Pete is strictly a tuba player, per his invisible union contract. Nobody has ever actually seen that contract, but he insists that it stipulates that he only ever play the tuba. Fortunately, invisible guitar players are a dime a dozen, just like visible ones, so Eric usually calls ahead and hooks up with a local invisible sideman to fill in for his gigs.
