On August 21st, the owners of Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ were informed that they made it to the FINAL round of “America’s Next Top Restaurant Franchise” competition held by the Franchise Edge. The competition was open to anyone in the United States who thought their concept could be “America’s Next Top Franchise”. The Franchise Edge was inundated with over 250 applicants nationwide who thought they had what it took to win. “Franchising was a bit farther on the horizon for us” commented Silvio’s co-owner Doug Howarth. “This was an opportunity that presented itself however, and it meant a lot of the costs associated with developing the concept as a franchise would be absorbed. That kind of money, approximately $75k, was too tempting to keep our plans on the back-burner so we went for it”.
