Who should pay for the bridesmaid dress??

In the US, unless otherwise stated by the Bride and/or Groom or the Bride or Groom’s parents the wedding party members ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN WEDDING ATTIRE. Which means the ladies (bridesmaids and maid of honor) will pay for their own gowns, shoes, and accessories (jewelry, handbag, shawl, gloves, etc). And the best man and groomsmen will pay for their own tuxedo rental or purchase a suit. So, if someone has paid for your gown, shoes and accessories in previous weddings consider yourself VERY FORTUNATE. Just keep in mind: if you cannot afford to buy a gown and the accessories or you do not want to be a member of the wedding party then you need to tell the Bride or Groom NOW.
