Who stays at the Fay Hut, and how much use does it get?
The hut is used in both summer and winter, by hikers, climbers and skiers. The number of bed-nights allocated at the Fay Hut through Parks Canada was a maximum of 12 people per night; the new Fay Hut will accommodate the same number of people. At the time the old hut burned down, it was averaging about 600 overnights per year, which is fairly steady use of a hut for this type of mountain access.
