Who was the baseball player Ty Cobb?
For most of the twentieth century, Ty Cobb was considered the greatest ballplayer in major league baseball. He was the first person inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. His batting average of .366 still stands as the best ever. For much of his career, and much of baseball’s twentieth century records, his four thousand, one hundred and some hits stood as best until broken by Pete Rose in the 1980’s.
