Who, why, and when was memory foam invented?
It was invented way back in 1966 as “T-foam” (temper foam) under a contract by NASA’s Ames Research Center, and was to be used as cushions for seats in space crafts, for the purpose of protecting astronauts against the tremendous G-forces experienced during take off flights. However, it was not actually used, as the durability in its early form was not very reliable.
