Who will buy Petstore puppies?
Its the basics of supply and demand. Here’s the basics behind why this works: 1.) Basically, if you stop buying pet-store dogs, then this results in less people buying less dogs in general. 2.) If the pet-store owners have a hard time selling their puppies then they will stop buying as many dogs from puppy mills. 3.) If puppy mills can’t sell as many dogs, then they will stop breeding as much. 4.) Eventually, the cycle will stop because it is no longer profitable for the puppy mills and pet-shop owners. Make sense? As for the dogs already in the system, they will most likely still end up in the same place (someone buys them) or get dropped at a shelter. The key is that it just takes longer. This is a GOOD thing, because this means that there are less dogs being born into the system to replace the ones being sold. So, the puppies you see in the window will eventually still be bought by someone stupid who doesn’t know any better. However, by educating people about the mechanics of supply
