Who will oversee and ensure that all safety regulations are followed?
The U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS), is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and environmentally sound operation of the U.S. energy pipeline network. OPS issues and enforces regulations for pipeline design; construction; operation and maintenance; personnel qualification; emergency response; and public awareness.
