Who Will Track E-verify Systems?
June 12, 2008 The debate is raging in congress regarding which administration will manage electronic employment verification systems. Some congressmen strongly believe that the Department of Homeland Security is not the best organization to manage programs like e-verify, instead the programs should fall into the hands of the Social Security Administration. Others though argue that the Social Security System is already overwhelmed with their current responsibilities and that the administration does not have the resources or manpower to handle electronic employment verification programs.
