Brown vs. Aldo aired live on Versus TV which, unfortunately, is no longer available to millions of DirecTV customers due to a distribution dispute. Many WEC and MMA fans were left in the dark, having to check internet news sites, blogs, and message boards for the results and play-by-plays of the fight card. The main event of WEC 44 pitted the WEC featherweight champion, Mike Brown against Jose Aldo Jr. The fight was a classic speed versus power match up that lived up to all of the pre-fight hype.
