WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM AN OCTANE BOOSTER?
From a practical perspective, if your bike engine starts knocking or pinging even with the manufacturer’s recommended gas, switch to the next highest octane grade. Of course, if “premium” (higher octane) is already the recommended fuel for your motorcycle, and that’s what you are fueling your bike with, then an octane booster should help. However, if the knocking or pinging continues after a few tanks of higher octane, there may be some engine maintenance in order. For a rider that lives in a remote area where higher octane gas is not readily available, having octane booster in the garage is a way to keep your higher-performance engine happy.
