Esperanza Rising, is a book written by Pam Munoz Ryan, she is a writer of children’ books. She has written around 25 books in her writing career. Her book Esperanza rising has received many honors including the “Pura Belpre Medal”, the Jane Addams Peace Award, ALA Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults and also Americas Award Honor Book. The book is written about the time of the great depression in America. It is about a young and rich Mexican girl growing up in the Mexico. Due to some events she and her mother have to flee to California. She has to realize the fact that she is no longer rich and this is very difficult for her.
