Whos involved in Lotus Eaters?
Lotus Eaters is me, Aaron Turner from Isis, and James Plotkin. We started that at the same time Khanate started. Aaron and I co-released a 12″ last summer. We did some shows. We have a full-length that’s coming out on Neurot this year. From where I come from, that’s as experimental music as I’ve gotten. As far as structure goes, it’s really rather improvised and non-rock. It comes from a totally different space, but it’s really enjoyable and really clean somehow. It’s more psychedelic. It’s sort of like escapism, I guess. Getting together with those guys and going to Aaron’s studio and saying, “Let’s do it. OK, what do we got? I got an accordion that I found on the street, we have the stove, and we have an acoustic guitar. OK, let’s go.” I guess no boundaries,and no preconceived notions can be exciting. I think taking that starting point, the atmosphere created with the Lotus Eaters tracks, is really rich. I think they are worth their worth from a listener’s standpoint. I feel really p
