Why A Magic Mom & Her Mandalas?

I have three wonderful children and a lovely daughter-in-law. Someone once called me ‘a magic mom’. I thought it was kinda neat. (I’m also the proud grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters!) What is a mandala? A mandala is a type of eastern art, often used for meditation. It is usually a geometric pattern, design or piece of artwork that represents the cosmos. The psychologist Carl Jung saw the patterns in mandalas as expressions of the unconscious self. Read more at Wikipedia. How do you make them? It’s really an easy art form to do. I use a compass now to draw my circle, and go from there. I’ve done so many, I have a basic template so I don’t have to always measure to find the center point. I use permanent markers, and a metallic gold or silver pen. I have my drawing table in front of a window so there’s plenty of natural light, and I like to listen to music while I draw.
