There is a bug in the current version of ViewletBuilder 6 which prevents a user from changing the background colour of text boxes. The normal procedure, (right click, select Background colour, then choose colour, and hit apply, then OK) works for balloons and notes but not text boxes. Until this is resolved in a future version, you will need to add a collared rectangle behind the text box.
