Why ar there people cheering for global warming to be true?
Hah geez you deniers are giving me a lot of laughs today. Thanks. First off, the name is Tamino. Secondly, it’s not difficult (relatively speaking) to factor out ENSO or volcanic effects. You just use MEI and volcanic emission data. You don’t like the result, so you dismiss it, claiming it’s “garbage” for no apparent reason. Typical denier behavior. As for the “cheering”, the reason is simple. Deniers have gone all in on the “global warming has stopped” argument. Every day there are deniers claiming the planet hasn’t warmed since 1998. So yes, I “cheer for” 2010 to be the hottest year on record (and I’m happy 2009 was 2nd-hottest) because it will make it even easier to disprove this bogus argument. There is no question that the planet is warming and the global temperature will be broken again and again. Thus there’s no reason to root against it. That’s unrealistic. Denial, if you will.
