Yes, your right, those games DIDN’T look that way when you saw them last back in the 80’s. As a matter of fact they didn’t look that way when Game Room was announced and previewed back at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas back in Jan 2010. In the linked video you’ll clearly see that Krome had modeled the cabinets for the Konami games correctly with proper button layout, side art, bezel, and marquee. However, when Game Room was released all the Konami games were presented in identical generic black cabinets, stripped of all the original art, with an identical button layout that didn’t match most of the games. Krome also just used a screenshot of the game’s title screen to use for the marquee instead of the original art. Krome PR has stated in an email that they were unable to license the original art ‘due to age’.
