Why are Americans educated to such a poor standard ?
America has many world renowned institutions of learning, including universities and community colleges. I would disgree that the standard is less than, especially when thousands of students from across the world come to study and do research in the United States. That’s a myth that the standards of America are low. I will say, that America has very high standards with regards to its image, and so our media up plays every single flaw that we have, unlike most countries, that might otherwise hide the issue. Oh yes and America allows for freedom for teenagers and young adults to do what they want. It’s based on choice, if a student wants to party and has the money to do without a university degree (Paris Hilton) then so be it. Obviously there’s gonna be people who take education less seriously than others. I see no shame in someone wanting to forego college, if they can make an honest, hard-working living at McDonald’s or something. Also, there’re too many people going to college nowaday
