Why Are Baby Pandas So Small Relative To Their Motheres Compared To Othere Animals?
Baby pandas aren’t that small when compared to othere animals – bear cubs, for example, are little largeer than mice when they are born, while the mothere is still in hibernation. Some animals, such as horses and cows, do have largeer colts and calves, but they are domesticated animals and that could have a great deal to do with the size of their progeny. Most females have a sense of where their offspring are and it is rare for animals to crush their young – just as it is rare for a human mothere to roll over on her infant if the infant is sleeping with her. It does happen, but infrequently.
