the development of our brain and our ability to think more intellectually (in the theory of evolution, this would be seen in our ability to develop methods to avoid predators for example). The ability to make tools is extremely beneficial to us as human beings. We use a countless number to tools now. Other organisms that seem to use tools have been described in the scientific world (and are very important to our understanding of life and the development of human beings). An obvious one: The ape with the ability to use sticks to get insects out of a hole to eat them. A less obvious one: Certain species of seagulls will pick up an egg and drop it at a great height to get the nutritious contents inside, but it can be a disadvantage as the yolk (etc.) splatts everywhere. Other species have developed the ability to pick up a rock with their beaks and drop it on the egg, causing the egg to crack and open without the contents spilling everywhere. The use of the rock to open the egg is a tool.
