Why are molecules such as antibodies and enzymes made up of proteins and not carbohydrates or lipids?

I dont know if anyone can answer “why” exactly, but maybe think of it this way: how are proteins made? Enzymes go into the nucleus and transcribe DNA’s code into mRNA, and ribosomes translate this into protein. That means that (almost) every gene in your genome that serves a function is the code for a protein. Most things that your body makes to serve complex functions (other than storage of energy) are made up of proteins. However, dont think of it as proteins vs everything else: sometimes proteins and other types of molecules DO serve similar functions: hormones, for example, are sometimes steroids (lipids), and sometimes proteins. Enzymes and antibodies are very different things, serve very different functions.
