Why are my very healthy looking gardenia bushes not blooming?

Without knowing many details (climate, watering and fertilizer frequency) I can only suggest a range of solutions. Here are examples of others who have had the same problems: From http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/gagarden/msg1111462025599.html: My gardenias are on the west side of my house, so they only get late afternoon sun. They have been blooming twice. The second time isn’t so profuse, but still smells wonderful. All I do to mine is give them some high acid fertilizer in the spring and again when the buds start to form, then again after they bloom. This year, I radically cut mine back after the first bloom and they still bloomed a second time. I am in NE Georgia, Commerce. You may be farther south and give them too much sun. http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/south/msg061017205751
