Why are polyester and viscose often blended to make fabrics?
If it for coursework:- Polyester fabric is a versatile and important man-made fabric. It has an outstanding characteristic of resisting wrinkle and springing back into its crisp smooth shape. It is strong, and soft hand. The fabric is resistant to stretching and shrinkage. These are quick to dry and are resilient. It has an excellent pleat retention property. It requires minimum care and is easily washable. ( i dont know the characteristics of visco, but write about them) Fabric blends are one which is made up of two or more different types of fibres twisted or spun together. Blending adds to the quality of the final product. Characteristics of Fabric Blends It is easy to care. It becomes more durable. It becomes more soft and luxurious. It becomes more resistant to wrinkles. It becomes more comfortable to wear. It does not shrinks. It becomes stronger to withstand lots of wear and multiple washing.
