Why are red pandas endangered?
Red pandas, like their cousin the Giant Panda, have become extinct due to one main reason – human civilization. Native to central/southern China, the pandas once roamed the low lands, which have all been replaced by farms, homes, and other industry. Forests that were once home to the red pandas have been plowed down and the red pandas have been forced into higher elevations, where the food supply, being shared by many, is quickly depleted.
