Why are sea turtles important and why do we need to save them from extinction?

Every animal keeps the world in balance. If one species goes then it WILL drag more with it. In the sea turtles case it grazes peacefully on seaweed at the bottom of the sea, unless they are eaten in which case they are keeping another animal alive. If the sea turtles were to die out seaweed would be an overpopulated species. Fish and other prey items would hide in the excess seaweed and be safe from the preditors who in turn would die out from starvation. Many of the fish we eat here would be extinct or only available in small numbers skyrocketing the price. Everything that happens in the wild effects us here. It is insulting that you would ask a question like that without thinking about it.
