Why are so many women such jealous, bitter little creatures?
I think our society trains people to be competitive from a very young age here in America. It’s sort of the organizing principle behind our hyper-capitalist society. We have to have the better lunch box. Later on it’s the fastest, coolest looking car. Or the hottest trophy wife, the biggest house and so forth. At least 3/4 of my close friends are women, and I think it’s true that women can be competitive about a lot of silly things. But when women reach their late 20s and early 30s this seems to go away. But for a lot of men I know…. Well, they never grow up. They spend most of their lives chasing adolescent fantasies or living in perpetual boyhood, not understanding at all what it really is to be a man. It’s like an ongoing locker room measuring contest, and while whipping it out has novelty value at a young age, it doesn’t really matter in the long run how big or small our real and metaphysical penises are.
