If you are attempting to install over a suspended wood floor, the minimum practice requires 2x 10 flooring joists on 16 centers. Further , a minimum of 1 thick sub floor is required to eliminate deflection. In some cases this demolition has to be enhanced. Deflection will cause tiles to pop and grout to fail.
