Because the negatives of universal health care have been repeatedly touted: 1. It will cost money supposedly more than the current system. 2. It subsidizes the poor, at the expense of hard working Americans who pay for insurance. 3. Supposedly, this will lower the quality of health care to those who can pay for it. Some of the hidden negatives have not been as publicized 4. Medical insurance companies will not make as much money. Unfortunately, these ignore the positives. 1. Money that goes into insurance companies could actually be used to fund health care instead. 2. Health Care would be forced to cover people who are in need of treatment. Better minimal treatment should be provided. 3. Currently Health insurance companies cover only the minimum required for them to stay competitive. More expensive treatment would be easier for the average person to receive, if it were necessary. eg chemotherapy. 4.
