Why are the xo.com dns servers shutting down?

Xo.com has made a business decision to shut these servers down and that is all that they will tell us. The company that we are moving to is a solid company that delivers a simple service and does it well. This is the first time that this has happened in over 7 years of web hosting. It should not need to happen again in the forseeable future.
