Why are there hate crimes against homosexuals?

I’ll give you a proper answer on this one, yes religion has its part to play as has alreayd been explained here but I don’t believe its the main cause…many people love to gain sympathy for their hate crimes by using the “i did it for God routine”…religion is merely an excuse..cos if they actuallyobeyed their bibles they would realise jesus appreciated the “love your enemies, do good to those that hate you” speech. Hate crimes happen against homosexuals because those in the community who are insecure about their sexual orientation (i.e. have a gay streak in them) feel so disgusted by what they feel and think and so disassociate from it by being as perceived “straight as possible”…so they are likely to verbally bash and even physically hurt gay people…cos they transfer the disgust and intolerance they have towards themselves onto others…
