• The U.S. Mint adds what they call ‘seigniorage’ to all coins they mint. However, you gain back much of the seigniorage when you sell them back to a dealer. When purchasing back from retail customers, all dealers typically pay more for Eagles and other legal tender bullion coins over common bullion products.
