I don’t know what kind of water tank you’re referring to, but water tanks are made from just about anything. The municipal water tanks you see are usually steel. The water tank on my toilet is porcelain, the water tank on the farm nearby is galvanized metal, and I’ve seen a lot of copper water tanks as well. Not to mention; concrete, aluminum, fiberglass and wood.
