Why aren probing questions about Islam common here? Too scared, or is that one true?

Two defining elements, almost cliched in public debate by now, of the Western perception of Islam are lack of knowledge and ignorance, which would explain exactly why there aren’t very many questions about it here. It doesn’t help that, from a historical perspective, Islam does more or less shatter some commonly held beliefs. One of which is the supposed antithetical nature of science and religion. The Qur’an and the Hadith both mention the importance of scientific research and testing, and it has been argued that this led to the Islamic Golden Age (look it up in Wikipedia), a period during Europe’s Dark Ages of advanced technological progress which developed the scientific method as we know it, advanced alchemy to lay the foundations of chemistry and formulated modern mathematics. Most of the scientists and theorists involved were more or less devout Muslims, not Atheists. Uh… coming to this point I’m actually kind of bored, so I’ll apologise for leaving it at this. It’s late, sorry

“Probing” questions require some knowledge and I for one have very little knowledge of Islam.

Because the majority of the people on this site do not have enough knowledge to ask probing questions let alone have an in depth discussion about Islam.
