Why aren recon marines considered special forces?

Well for one they are Marines, not Army, so the term “Special Forces” applies to the US Army. They are however part of United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and will be a part of the United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) in the future (2010). Marines will always say everyone is a Marine. That is fine. But in the Army not everyone is a Green Beret or Ranger or Paratrooper or Infantryman. That’s why is there is distinction not matter how you spin it. If everyone is the same then I should be able to grab any Marine, put him or her in some scuba gear, get in a sub, do a lock out, swim to the surface, swim to shore 10 kms away, do a beach recon, then go inland to call in a air strike by the Navy. We ALL start the same in every branch, but where we go after Basic or Boot Camp and AIT is totally different.
