Why can non-immediate family members purchase AAFES products?
a. AAFES is a tax-free business. Only authorized ID holders can buy items in the store. AAFES receives no subsidization from congress. This is a world-wide AAFES policy. 7. Can we put speed bumps on the off-limits road between the flightline and Area 1,2? a. The road is part of the community of Aviano. We need to take responsibility for ourselves and others to ensure we are maintaining the standard. If we all drive the speed limit on those roads, people won’t be able to speed. 8. Can we put in a walking/biking path past the main gate on the flightline? a. A long-term plan does exist to build a running path around the entire base but it will take several years and will be accomplished in phases. We’re confident that a second segment of the perimeter running path will be completed in FY 08. This segment will run from the main gate and connect to the sidewalk in between the housing office and the dormitories. 9. What is the policy at home fuels for meter readings and can we get it changed
