Why can we just depend on full-text databases such as Infotrac?

0

Our current access to partial full-text databases depend on state-wide consortium discounts. State-wide consortium database liscensing agreements are up for revision 00-01 and our database selection may look quite different once those decisions are made. In addition, full text databases do not provide all of our information needs; many full-text periodical databases do not include core periodicals for in professional/technical fields. Full-text database providers can drop or add periodical titles at will, without notifying subscribers. Full text may not be full content. Individual and group electronic journal subscriptions require considerable staffing commitment to track licensing agreements, search protocol and content changes.
