Why change from Snickers to Marathon?
It was all to do with globalization – Marathon was called ‘snickers’ in America and some other countries, and it’s cheaper to print Xmillion wrappers the same than it is to do different ones. (Same principle applies to cars [VW Golf, Seat Leon, Audi A3, VW New Beetle etc etc all the same underneath] and loads of other things). We look around and it seems like we have lots of choice, but under the surface we’re all being duped! Now it seems someone’s decided that Marathon was a better name after all (only took ’em 10 years, eh?) and so the name’s changing back.
