Why China government don blockade https websites?
Why would a government overtly block any site? They can just intercept the data with all addresses attached. It is free intelligence gathering on citizens. If you let people vent in/on a public forum, the people identify themselves and they can be dealt with on a case by case basis. If you blocked any single site you make martyrs out of that site’s true believers. By letting the site remaint opened, you can terrorize everyone randomly however you would leave the leaders alone. Leaving them alone, would foster mistrust with the sites leadership.. Mistrust would have the leaders of the site, turn on themselve and they would eat their own until the site just vanishes without any overt raid.
