Demand is increasing in this country for people with the knowledge of the international environment within which the U.S. and foreign businesses operate. Many domestically educated managers have been at a distinct disadvantage in the international arena owing to their lack of language proficiency, international sensitivity, and multinational knowledge. These skills are necessary for effective interaction with foreign businesses and government officials. The minor in international business is designed to help remove these obstacles by creating a program of studies that allows students to apply the knowledge and skills of a major to an international setting.
