JPG files are larger than GIF files but if you need to show photographs or need accurate colour detail you should save your images as JPG files.How do I reduce the physical size of an image for my business card cd? • Open your image in Photoshop by choosing File > Open . . . from the menu bar • Locate your file, and click the “Open” button • Under the Image menu, select Image Size . . . • Make certain that the “Constrain Proportions” and “Resample Image” check boxes are checked in the “Image Size” dialog box. • Under the “Pixel Dimensions,” you will see numerical fields for “Width” and “Height. • Choose a suitable size for your requirements (an average screen is 800 x 600) • When the image looks satisfactory, save it by choosing File > Save from the menu bar. Note: It is a good idea to save this image under a different file name. That way, if you decide to start over, you will still have a copy of the original image.
