Why choose pet sitting?
Many pet owners do not like to board or kennel their pets because their pets may not do well or many pet owners don’t prefer this option. Pet sitting provides an alternative to boarding or kenneling. It is also an alternative to having to impose on family, friends or neighbors to watch your pets when you go on vacation or business travel. Pet sitting provides pet owners with reliable care without the guilt. Many pet owners are now able to go on vacation and/or extend their trips because of this reliable alternative. We want to be able to depend on our friends, our family, and even our neighbors, but there is a truth that separates them from a professional pet sitter.
Your pet is a professional pet sitter’s first priority.
A professional pet sitter has an obligation to care for your pet whether their car breaks down or not.
When you hire a professional pet sitter, you’re hiring someone who has made a life commitment to the care of animals. Most professional pet sitters not only have pets of their own, but have chosen the profession precisely because their care for the animal kingdom is immense. A professional pet sitter not only invests in the life of your pet, but understands your care and concern as an owner. Hiring a professional pet sitter guarantees that you are hiring someone whose going to think of your pet’s needs before their own.
Professional pet sitters make sure to protect you, your pet, and even your home. Not only will most professional pet sitting services require you to sign a legally binding general service contract and veterinarian notification form, they’ll also have acquired insurance and bonding created specifically for professional pet sitters and agencies.
These two reasons alone are those that I feel are the most important factors that separate hiring a professional pet sitter from enlisting the help of a friend. Friends are wonderful to have, but I have heard from countless clients, and experienced myself, the first hand reality of what can go wrong when your pets’ lives are not in the hands of a professional.

Pet sitting is a good alternative to boarding for many reasons. While many pets and people enjoy boarding, pet sitting can be much less stressful for the pet, particular seniors or timid animals. Being able to stay in their own home with their own things can be a great comfort to many pets and make their owner’s absence less frightening. Senior animals can have trouble adjusting to being in a new place when boarding, and be much less comfortable than they would be in familiar surroundings, and animals with a more nervous, timid nature or sensitive background, such as abuse or neglect, can be downright terrified to be boarded and surrounded by new places, people, animals, and scents that they don’t understand. This can lead to stress and even illness, as some animals will stop eating or drinking when nervous. It can also be much more comforting for owners to know their pets are at their own home and being cared for by a professional rather than in a different place.
