U of T Mississaugas small campus setting allows students to learn in small class sizes (fourth-year courses typically have fewer than 35 students) and get to know their professors. Most professors have active research programs and we have recently added to our already stellar departments with new professors who conduct research and teach classes in rapidly developing areas like behavioural genetics and landscape ecology. U of T Mississauga is fortunate to have a beautiful forested area surrounding the campus where students often conduct ecological research. Student research on campus has involved studies of fish and plankton populations in our two campus ponds; bird, mammal, amphibian, insect and fungal populations in the campus forest; and important plant species and insects in old field and grassland habitats.
