Why did Brazil lose to Germany in the 2014 World Cup semifinal?

Teams get better and worse. Brazil simply had a bad year and Germany has some great players this year.

Brazil is not depending on the team work play tactic as their main tactic, they have always been depending on the skilled players, and their talents, and tricks to score and win, starting with Pele, Romario, Zico, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, and many other talents. At the 2014 WC, Brazil national team, hadn’t many skillful players as they used to do. They nearly had one or tow skilled players, Neymar and Marcelo, and Oscar. At the Match against Colombia Neymar had a bad injury in his ribs, he was off. Then at the match against Germany, they lost their most valuable player and the one who shared at more than 50% of their goals and wins, and there was no one who could replace him. On the other hand Germany, was a team that had been built since WC 2006, 2010 and till 2014. They have developed a great team work playing tactics, and they didn’t miss enough portion of the skills, they had ozil, klose and Muller, and they had the best GK in the world Manuel Neuer, all of that  adding to scoring 5 goals in just 29 minuets, made the Latin team collapse to make it 7 goals.

Germany gave Brazil a huge reality check, its as simple as that. Don’t listen to anyone that puts it just down to the fact that Germany had better players, although that was a factor. German football has been on the up since the turn of the century and Brazilian football has declined, but not many people had noticed until this match. I noticed lots of years prior. You can almost say that Germany have ‘hacked’ football, they realised that this generations football will be less reliant on skill and technical ability, but physicality and footballing brain. That’s one thing that you must admire about the germans. They began to produce players like Schwiensteiger, Müller, Lahm and Kroos who are not so blessed with great trickery and quick feet but have a footballing BRAIN. The Brazilians didn’t notice this until it was too late and will now have to spend at least a generation rebuilding a new wave of exciting players, Neymar is a rarity to Brazil in that sense. Hope this put things into perspective!
