The reason is explained in John 1 “to make Him (God) known” -Verse 18. The importance of the incarnation is seen in this: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” to reveal God.ÂJesus came to reveal God to man. He was sent by God so that “all might believe through him (Jesus)” – John 1:7. He came to “enlighten every man” – Verse 9. Notice the emphasis in John’s gospel on his words: ALL; EVERY; and John 3:16’s WHOSOEVER. You can substitute YOUR NAME in each of these verses and you can be sure that NO NAME is excluded from God’s plan of salvation. Jesus came not just to be with us, but also to be our savior. Who is Jesus? That is the most important question that every person must answer. John has foreseen two responses: Some “did not receive him” -Verse 11 and others “who received him” -Verse 12.
