Why did Harriet Tubman create the underground railroad?

0

Short is that she didn’t. The underground railroad was created by hundreds of people that were determined to find a safe way for slaves to escape to the freedom of Canada. Runaway slaves would be captured and returned to their owners in the South, even in the Northern non-slave states. Harriet Tubman was a ‘conductor’ on the underground railroad and would help families get into the system and guide them to the safety north of the border. She risked her life even though every time she crossed that border between the free and the in-slaved she continued to help others.
