Why did Hungary leave the Warsaw Pact?

0

Hungary rebelled and was crushed by Soviet tanks. Hungary wanted to leave the Warsaw pact because their religion had been oppressed and the economy under communist rule was horrible. They wanted reforms and wanted to eb able to trade with the West for a better economy. Then, when Gorbachev came to power he was much more liberal, in 1991 the Warsaw pact broke up and Hungary left.
