There have been longstanding conflicts between different recreation interests in the plan area. These local stakeholders have an intimate knowledge of the backcountry, the issues and the potential solutions. The stakeholder negotiations enabled the province to put together a plan that is well informed and based on the common ground between these different interests. The draft SRMP has now received broad public review to ensure that the full range of interests are considered.
