Why did the University of Louisiana – Lafayette choose to apply for the MCLA?

CJ: To be honest, it’s the only league we could join, and the largest. Even if we wanted to join a different club league, the others are located too far from us. Also, we would rather do it the right way and join the MCLA our first year, than play as a random club team for a few years until we join like some other clubs have done. MM: What has it taken to get the team started? CJ: A lot of patience. It’s tough getting college kids to even communicate, let alone organize. Getting enough kids together in one place that want to play is one of the toughest challenges. Our president did all of the work getting the club approved by the school. That required a good bit of paperwork on his part, as well as finding an advisor and enough eligible members to sign a constitution for the club. After that it was a lot of waiting for approval, then a long drive to Fort Worth to meet with the LSA and plead our case. MM: What is the process like applying for the MCLA? CJ: Actually, applying to the MCLA
