‘FINANCE Minister Al-Shamali says the government is enthusiastic about the salary increment issue. If the proposed salary increment is approved, what are the Kuwaiti people going to say – will they praise the government or will they praise the World Bank which was asked to conduct a study on the issue?,’ columnist Talal Al-Saeed wrote for Al-Seyassah daily Saturday. ‘Finance Minister Al-Shamali sent a Kuwaiti official to look into the study but he came back saying that increasing wages in Kuwait is the leadership’s decision and not the duty of the World Bank.
